Bishop Stephen emailed this morning that the army of South Sudan has for the past 4 days been increasing its numbers and building new bases in the Greater Mundri area, and that many of the people of Lui and Mundri dioceses are fleeing their villages. The army has burned some villages down. Please pray for our Moru friends!

If you know the Diocese of Lui, you may want these details:

"The parishes of Mideh, Matta, Mariba in Mideh Archdeaconry and parishes of Buagyi and Doroh in Buagyi Archdeaconry, and parishes of Lanyi and Lozoh in Lui Archdeaconry are all in hiding, fearing for their own lives it is the same with other Archdeaconries like Minga, Wandi, and Kediba."

"Some of these villages are already burned down by the army. For example, Lozoh parish community in the Diocese of Lui and Bari parish community in the Diocese of Mundri are set on fire last week and since this is dry season the grass houses were burned down completely and the local people lost everything."

My heart is breaking at the thought of suffering of friends and the destruction of these familiar places.  Praying.

It's shocking.  This sounds like ethnic cleansing.
